H2U Celebrates Dual Milestones: First International SROI Certification in Global Marathon Industry with Tanaka Marathon; Appointed Official Sponsor of the World Masters Games 2025 in Taipei & New Taipei
As the World Masters Games 2025 approaches, H2U announces a double milestone: the company has been named an official sponsor of the Games, integrating the collective strength of its seven flagship brands to support athletes from around the globe; and its subsidiary SportNote, together with the Shu-Kang Active Living Association, has completed the Social Return on Investment (SROI) report for Taiwan’s Tanaka Marathon, which has been officially certified by Social Value International (SVI). This marks the world’s first marathon-themed SROI report to be listed on SVI’s official website, showcasing H2U’s leadership in advancing health promotion and sustainable impact.
As an official sponsor of the World Masters Games 2025, H2U will unite its seven brands—Everyday Health, SportNote, HikingNote, CyclingNote, BasketballNote, BaseballNote, and FitnessNote—to contribute to the event through digital content and on-site engagement, while also encouraging participation in community sports. SportNote will provide real-time race coverage and pace runners for the half marathon and 10km categories, while HikingNote’s app will launch the “Forest Gems Challenge,” inviting participants to explore the natural beauty of Taipei and New Taipei. Through these efforts, H2U aims not only to promote healthy living but also to embody its vision of “Whole-Life Health in Every Scene.”
On the sustainability front, H2U achieved a breakthrough by commissioning the Tanaka Marathon—one of Taiwan’s four major international marathons—for SROI analysis by SVI in the UK. The evaluation revealed that every NT$1 invested in the event generated NT$4.27 in social value, including benefits in health promotion, local economic growth, community cohesion, and cultural preservation. By converting the Tanaka Marathon into a quantified, internationally recognized sustainable event model, H2U has set a new benchmark for the global sports industry.
H2U stated: “This report represents a significant milestone for the sports industry, demonstrating that marathons can generate measurable impact across health, economy, and society. We hope this framework will guide more organizations in applying ESG principles and impact investment to sports events.”
As the lead architect of the Tanaka Marathon SROI methodology and certification, H2U is among the few teams in Taiwan with internationally certified expertise in impact measurement. Leveraging innovative sports technologies and professional event design, H2U enables companies and governments to transform single-day marathons into year-round programs of social impact. Looking ahead, H2U will continue to expand its ecosystem around health technology, sports promotion, and sustainability, linking individuals, communities, and society to lead Taiwan’s sports industry onto the global stage.
